From Me, To Me

The Difference

I have but one desire
When speaking of loving you
Truly and wholly as you are
While they live to possess you
Drown you in sob stories
And live a life of sorry

They have a box for you
Filled with a societal standard

That says…
You
Can
Love
Only
One

So choose

I need only to set you free.

I’ll remember you

There is an echo coursing through my body and I know that it’s because of you
Who you were
Who I was with you
Who we were together
Before our pictures became etched in stone
Becoming a part of the love history books
That we swore we would never be a part of
Soon your laughter will fade
Every scent of you, every hint of you
And the only way that I will know that you were here
Is by placing my hand over my chest
Because you will always dwell there
Tapping against the 75 per minute beats of the heart you captured
My mind will wander to your place sometimes
In our moment in time
When we were frozen, hoping that we could stay that way forever
In love, in happiness
Inside, inside jokes...
I will often wonder if it was love or us that ran out
There will be constant battles with my own discomfort and doubts
Love was then, pain is now
I’m covered in shades of blue
But I'll remember you

COMING 4/30/2022

Shadow Self

One day you might see darkness in me
See that my halo flickers

I might get too comfortable and forget to crack the door that lets the light in and keeps my demons and ghosts at bay
In shame
In suppression
In I’m not ready to deal with that shit

You may feel uncomfortable laying the with inconsolable, inconsumable

Me.
