Jasmine learns quickly that Cameron is a different kind of man. He has her questioning her sexuality and her place in the world, as every aspect of her life changes and is tested.
Does she conform to what everyone has to say or does she take the road less traveled? Jasmine is about to get a brand new lesson in life and love.
Follow Jasmine, through a journey of a different kind of love, a love that goes beyond physical, mental, and emotional connections and truly test the meaning of acceptance.

I decided to ask the question that I knew no one else would. “Did anyone like the transgendered stories?”
One of the girls yelled. “Oh yes, ma’am. Promiscuous was my shit. Amir could get it!”
The girl beside her responded. “Promiscuous was a good damn story, but I don’t know if I could date a man who used to be a woman. It’s weird.”
A lot of the women agreed. I wasn’t sure if I did.
Lena spoke. “That is beyond weird. It’s extreme for a person to change their entire sex. I love being a woman.” The group agreed again. “I would never just chop my titties off.”
Lena was about to ramble on. I was getting a little upset at how ignorantly she stated her opinion.
“I’m sure it’s something much deeper than that.” I spoke up.
“Do you know someone transgendered?”
“No, do you?”
“Hell no.”
“Well, how can you say that what they do is extreme? You’re formulating opinions based on what?”
“Based on people walking around looking like the opposite sex, but when they get home and get naked the truth comes out. It’s creepy and I’d never date someone like that. How would I introduce that to my family and friends? Hey! He/she and me are in love.”
Sasha joined the debate. “I don’t think you could even call yourself a lesbian if you dated someone like that.”
“Titles are overrated,” I said.
“That’s bullshit,” Another member said. “We all have labels and titles whether we want them or not.”
“You don’t have to conform to that though. If I call you ugly does that mean you’re ugly? You can take what I said and believe it or go on your own esteem. You all live in a box. People are people,” I retorted.
“I don’t care either way about labels or all that other bullshit. I’m not dating a chick who thinks just because she calls herself a man then she is one. Fuck that. I like pussy. I want pussy,” Lena stated.
I held my hand up in Lena’s face. “Okay, Sasha. You and your girl have been together for over a year. What if she told you she wanted to be a man?” I asked trying to get my point across.
“I’d tell her to date a straight chick then.”
Everyone agreed.
“So, you would throw away everything y’all have built together because of that?”
“Yep, I was building with a woman, not a transformer.”
“Well you don’t truly love her for who she is inside,” I proclaimed.
“She has ovaries inside,” Sasha spat.
Everyone nodded and laughed. Lena had just referred to someone who walks, talks and breaths the same way she does as a “that” and Sasha did the same and called them a “transformer,” which technically was a machine. It was funny? I didn’t laugh, and I didn’t continue to argue with either of them. I really had no idea what I would even be arguing about since I, myself wasn’t that familiar with the transgendered community. But, I knew that I didn’t have to be educated on them to know that her remarks were inappropriate and unacceptable. I’m sure she wouldn’t have said those same things had someone transgendered been present. Who’s to say someone there wasn’t? I left it alone because I knew that it could escalate. I sat silently. The meeting was over for me.
