"For us—two studs—that was beyond taboo in the gay community."

Angel, a touch-me-not stud, has a thing for her best friend Ace. She goes on to explain how these feelings can't be revealed, because in the black, gay community, it' uncanny. It's unacceptable. It's downright disgusting to the majority.

As I read this short story, I couldn’t help but laugh at just how ignorant our community can be when it comes to outer appearances and labels. Although I worried for Angel when she made the decision to turn out her friend Ace, I enjoyed her boldness. I believe my heartbeat with Angel’s, as she kept silent not to reveal herself in the hotel where she lured Ace just to show her that even under male clothing, she was still all women. Hats off to Angel, because I just knew Ace was going to beat her silly.

I applaud T. Ariez for touching on an uncommonly common subject in our community. She made many valid points in this quick piece. I hoped for there to be more. I would love to see the romance grow between these "bois.” I believe this story has the possibility to be something great, encouraging, and informative. I’d like to see some of the stereotypes removed. For instance, “I put my hand on her chest, making sure not to grope her breast, but touch in the same manner that I would touch a man’s chest.” Lines like this fuel the idea that studs can only make love a certain way and that keeps homophobic thinking inside of the homosexual community. Aside from that, I recommend this story for anyone who wants a little bit of an understanding of what goes on in the S4S community. Love is Love. Well done. I recommend this short story.
